Abstract

Abstract Abstract: The performance of the Hungarian economy in the field of innovation is modest in an international comparison. The article aims at contributing to efforts to explain this weak innovation performance, relying on a theoretical framework that combines innovation potential with the intellectual capital accumulated by organisations. The article focuses on certain aspects of human resources utilization using the data of the European Working Conditions Survey. It concludes that Hungary faces serious deficits in the accumulation and development of human capital. Keywords: innovation, intellectual capital, human capital, training
